Topsy Turvy Pink & Black 30th Birthday Cake

16/05/2010 Pink Ribbon Designs

This was my second attempt at a ‘topsy turvy’ cake.
It didn’t take as long as the first one I made but still took a while [I can see why people charge a lot]. I made it for my sister in laws 30th birthday. She loves pigs, so I wanted to do something with pigs on but still wanted it to look nice and not a childs cake. So I opted for pink and black with the percy piglets going round the middle. I was going to make a fondant pig or two to sit on top but not only did I run out of time my attempt wasn’t very good lol next year I’ll have perfected it..
I decorated the wire [sticking out the top] myself with beads and other craft bits.
I’m pleased to say this was another success. People were surprised when I told them I made it – and in my spare time - as they thought I made cakes full time!! And I have already had an order for another 30th cake from someone at the party!!
