‘I Love You’ cake

My friends boyfriend asked me to make a cake for her. He pretty much gave me free range to do what I liked with it. All he asked for was that it said ‘I Love You’. I decided to make an ‘individual’ cake – it was about 5″ – and cover it with black icing and red hearts. I used white chocolate icing to write ‘I love you’ and draw the ‘x’s. This time I also decided to cover the cake board. However, I think maybe this could have gone a little better. Maybe if I’d covered it in red icing and  used a smaller board or a slightly bigger one with the cake set to one side, it might not have looked so much like a hat! lol All in all, I’m quite pleased with it – and my friend loved it! So did her boyfriend – he’s even asked me to make another cake!
